*EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: EDO-OKPA UNITY FORUM CALLS FOR PEACEFUL POLL* With the governorship election just days away, the Edo-okpa Unity Forum has issued an urgent appeal for peaceful and issue-based politics. In a statement signed by the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), High Chief Peters Evbota, the forum expressed concern over escalating tensions and violent clashes among supporters. The forum reminded stakeholders that the two leading candidates, both from the same Senatorial District, are brothers and sons of Edo State, and urged supporters to refrain from violence, name-calling, and blackmail. INEC and security agencies were also called upon to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election, devoid of external interference. The Edo-okpa Unity Forum's appeal comes as the state prepares for the polls on Saturday, September 21, 2024. *EDO-OKPA UNITY FORUM* *ELDER EMMANUEL OMONUA* National Coordinator  *COMRADE MARK AKHUETIE* Secretary General
